Si he sido conocido entre mis amigos por ser un devoto seguidor, a la distancia y pobremente, del maravilloso G. Leonhardt, ahora debo confesar, no que mi dedicación a concluido, sino que ha encontrado un digno competidor y adversario. Por supuesto, no podía ser de otra manera, se trata, una vez más, de un alumno suyo. Pero no cualquier alumno, que los miembros de la Batería hemos escuchado sabe dios a qué alumnos -por respeto al Maestro no deberían llamarse así- sino aquel que se aleja de él en busca de un estilo propio y original. Oh mi querido Andreas, cuántas horas de placer me has proporcionado (menos que Gustav pero peligrosamente acercándose), cuántos nuevos enfoques y acercamientos y cuánto nuevo repertorio. Si el estimable Gustav sólo se dignaba llegar hasta los pre-clásicos (y qué pre-clásicos: el respetadísimo C.P.E. Bach), Staier no tiene reparos en acercarse a piezas contemporáneas para piano-forte y clavecín y en llegar hasta, no se asusten, Schubert. Hasta el mismísimo y beethoviano Schubert...herejía para el movimiento. Pero a pesar de estas diferencias -Andreas es una generación completa más joven que Gustav- hay algo que lo hace único, a pesar de sus irregularidades: no sólo puede tocar como un dios el clavecín sino bastante bien el piano. En suma, el alemán puede hacer lo que quiere, sin perder y comprometer un sólo gramo de originalidad. Lamentablemente, se le edita casi exclusivamente en Europa, y ellos, guardándose el gusto, nos dejan con una sola opción: descargarlo de la red. De esa manera, he podido hacerme de una buena colección de sus mejores interpretaciones incluidos 4 trios para flauta barroca, bajo y piano de C.P.E, tres discos dedicados exclusivamente a D. Scarlatti que han hecho que olvide por completo a Horowitz, bastante Bach y Haydn (tocado en un piano-forte maravilloso). Lamentablemente no puedo subirles ningun disco ni tampoco deseo hacerlo pero pueden bajar varios del internet además de tener una buena idea de su vida, de su repertorio y de las fechas de sus conciertos, si es que usted se encuentra en Alemania, aquí.
Por favor, no pierdan más tiempo y escúchenlo...y de paso a Leonhardt también.
